Dear Parents and Education Advocates,
Ready or not, it’s the 20’s all over again, and PQE is off to a flying start! With Lunar New Year, we’re determined as ever to bring accountability, transparency, and representation in our San Diego Public Education system, so every child receives the quality education they need.
With redistricting coming up in 2021, control of San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) is of critical importance to the special interests that have funneled millions of dollars into school board races while incumbents attack school choice. With three of five seats up in 2020, the direction of SDUSD could dramatically change beginning in 2020.
We are fighting a status quo that lacks leadership and innovative solutions that address abject failure in our minority communities. When San Diego City leaders and San Diego Unified School Board Trustees failed to act, we did.
Today, we are in the midst of the biggest fight to bring about change to California’s second largest school district through our California Voting Rights Act lawsuit against the City of San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District.
After nearly 20 years of unfair representation in violation of California’s Constitution and our leader’s unwillingness to act, we did. It’s time for a change!
